Is there a way to just select a section and cut the value / length of notes in half, (ie. Make quarter notes into eighth notes including rests as well)
I have a composition that is running at tempo of 286, I want it run at 144, but I have many measures of an already completed song...
Is there a tool where I can simply select the whole piece and do as the action I stated?

This can be accomplished in three steps:
• Copy the score
• Edit>Paste Half duration
• Change your tempo to half its current value
This works well if you don't have meter changes or other issues that may complicate the score.
You may also want to consider altering the meter before using Paste Half duration.
