advice
I am having trouble with different amount of systems on each page and also find on long bar at the bottom of page 1 that will not be persuaded to join three other bars on the next page to keep the flow of phrases. need help!

Add a page break before that bar that you want to move. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/breaks-and-spacers
If you need more help come back and attach your score (.mscz file).
Also note that the number of bars that will fit in a system depends on your page width and how many notes and rests are in the bars.
