two adjacent notes should be a chord
I have two adjacent notes that should be a single chord. How do you combine the two adjacent notes into a single chord?

I don't think there is any way to do that after the separate notes have been entered, but the way to enter chords is described here. https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/note-input#chords
So, delete the second note and then click on the first note and re-enter the second note while holding Shift.
Implode should work.

Implode only works on notes of the same duration at the same time position. I assumed that the OP meant the notes were literally adjacent on the same stave - i,e. one plays after the other. But maybe I assumed wrongly.
It was my inexperience.
I deleted one of the two notes (e.g F and C) the C in this example. Then I selected the F and did a shift plus "C" and that that allowed me to make the chord of F & C.
Thanks for the help!
