How to make parts visible for first system, but not again until played
Hey, this is my first time writing a piece with multiple instruments and I want all instruments to be visible on the first system of the sheet music (with rests, because only one is playing), but invisible until played again. I know how to make a part hidden when empty, but I want these parts hidden when empty in all places except the first system. Is there a way to do that?

Don't use the Hide when empty in the staff properties; but use the one under Format → Style → Score, which has a subsetting to control the first system (shows all instruments by default)
Go to Format>Style>Score and select "Don't hide empty staves in first system".
