Bar Spacing

I'm pretty new to using MuseScore and haven't got a good grasp of the controls. I was trying to arrange a song when I accidently pressed a button, I think so at least, and the bar spacing went weird. I didn't realise my blunder and have saved the score. How do I fix this?

Select the measures with the many rests and press DEL (delete button) on your computer keyboard

You might have pressed the return (enter) key and added a system break - which affects bar spacing.
