Random measure change
am writing a piece in 4/4 and weirdly there is a random 3/4 bar but there is no signature change on the measure where there is a change there is a gray dash above this, unfortunately I am very new to composing and using the software. What can I do to make this a true 4/4 bar again

Right click in the measure and from measure properties set the actual duration to 4/4. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/measure-operations#duration
You probably inadvertently deleted a beat by using CTRL+Delete instead of just Delete.
Right click on this measure - measure properties - set the measure duration value to 4/4 .
This grey dash shows you that the measure has a shorter duration. A '+' would remark a longer duration.
