sythnesizer

It says that to hear only the parts I want to hear I need to turn on the synthesizer, but when I do that there is no sound at all, how can I resolve this? I have a 4 part piece with SATB and want to only hear the tenor and bass lines but it doesn't seem to play an audio in synth mode. Will only play all parts in musescore audio
