Multi-measure rests with text

• Dec 16, 2022 - 04:08

While unsuccessfully searching for this answer, I've seen a lot of discussion about multi-measure rests (MMR), and how to use them. I didn't find an answer to the situation I'm trying to solve.
In a multipage part, there are sometimes notes before a page turn to give the player a clue as to how quickly they need to turn the page. For example "V.S.", "(time)", "(4 bars)". When the page ends with an MMR, what's the recommended way to attach this text?
I want it to look like this:

If I use staff (or system) text and attach it to the last measure, and then display MMRs it looks like: text_interferes_with_MMR.png

I can use staff (or system) text and attach it to the first measure of the MMR, which looks ok when MMR are used, (that's how I made the first image above), but is certainly wrong in the score when MMRs are not displayed:

I could use a frame or hidden measure at the bottom of every other page for these notes, but that seems tedious. Is there a better way?
