and why do volume-changing dynamics not have a "playback" setting?
Velocity changing does work when playing back through MS Basic.
But given the new playback engine no longer uses MIDI as its internals, we are still awaiting an update in which it can interpret this information. Or a version in which a different setting is made available (for example a volume-lane).
