MuseScore 4.0 — Dragging a score onto the MuseScore icon fails to open the document (MacOS Ventura 13.0)

When I drag a .mscz score onto the MuseScore4 icon in the MacOS dock—and MuseScore 4 is not yet running—MuseScore launches but it fails to open the dragged document. Instead MuseScore shows its New & Recent panel.

On a second try (once MuseScore 4 is running) a score dragged onto the app icon does open ... in the same app instance.
