Practicing with new version
I used to be able to show just one part, and have playback play for the others. Now with the new version 4 when I hide the other parts, it mutes them, too. How do I get around this?

Do not hide the instruments themselves, but each of their staves instead.

So sorry, how do I do that? I only see hide when empty.

Look at the Instruments Panel (F7)

Got it, thanks! I had been trying to hide each "superset" in the list. It works when I hide the each "subset" that I don't want to see.
