Muse Sounds not working

I'm on macos 12.3.1 and have musescore 4.0.0 installed. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling musescore, mushub and muse sounds multiple times, then reinstalling in different ways, but no matter what muse sounds wont show up in the mixer on any project.
I tried following the instructions of this comment:

but as it was for windows 11, I'm not sure if I did everything, as it seems a lot of people who had the same problem I have were able to fix it following those instructions, but they didn't work for me.
