Custom "cannot place object" cursor
When I drag something from the palette, like a dynamic, and I want to place it on a specific note, it's difficult to place it on the note because the default "cross" cursor on my laptop has a completely different hotspot. I have to flail around the note with the cursor until it becomes the cursor with the plus icon and I can drop it there.
I suggest creating a custom "cannot place object here" cursor which clearly indicates where the hotspot is so you can easily move your mouse to the note and place the object.

Rather than flailing around trying to drag and hit the "sweet spot" it is much easier to select a destination note and then click on the pallet item to apply it.
