Importing scores from 3.6 to MS4 - Macos - changes visible size drastically

If I import a file from the previous version of MuseScore into MuseScore 4.0.1, the viewing size on a 27 inch Retina Mac display increases by a factor of around 3. This happens consistently. Sometimes it is possible to reset the size by using the buttons at the bottom right of the panel - if they are visible on the screen.

This is a major problem.
