Black Screen after launching MacOS

EDIT After restarting it seems to be running fine. Not sure what was going on before restart that kept causing it to blackscreen.

Trying to install on a Macbook Pro (15-inch 2018), after launching and briefly displaying the splash screen the screen goes completely black. Pressing escape does nothing, nor do any other keys. [command]-Q will quit, but that's it. What am I missing? Thanks!
