As far as I know there is no way to automatically do this to all X notes but in MS4 you can go to the properties panel with said notes selected and uncheck "play".
In MS 3 it's simple : Select the whole stave you want----select with right click one note with the "cross notehead"---choose "SELECT" and the last " MORE"-----select the first "THE SAME NOTEHEAD".................all these "cross notehead notes" are selected in one time.............in the inspector, put OFF the LECTURE or perhaps PLAY........all theses notes are "muted"...............sorry for my "English" !!
