Full manual control of adjustments to existing score

• Feb 6, 2023 - 07:12

I'm new and haven't been able to find the answer to a really basic question, I assume it's really simple.
When adjusting durations/notes for a voice in a measure of an existing score, I also get unwanted automatic adjustments to that voice, potentially other voices in that measure and potentially the next measure, too.

How do I configure Musescore to get full manual control, i.e. shut off the automatic adjustments that currently get triggered when I make a manual change in an existing score? Thanks.

When you are entering notes in a voice other than Voice 1, MuseScore will "helpfully" add a full-measure rest for that voice in the next measure - ready for your note entry there.

I don't know of any way to turn off that feature, and it's quite easy to delete the rest if you don't need it.
