Auto Save

If I am saving my score in the Musescore cloud, will "Auto Save" save the file there as well? I have it set for 3 minutes in the General Preferences, however, I lost a couple of hours of work because I didn't specifically save the file. If it did save, is there a specific place where I can find that auto-saved file? Would it be hidden or use a different file extension?
