Need for multiple selected parts in one edit view

I am working on a complex piece with many parts: solo singers, mixed choir, strings, organ and percussion. The score is large and unreadable, so editing by selected parts is a great help. However, now it is only possible to select one part at a time in one graphic view (or I don't know how to select multiple parts in the same view). It would be very useful to be able to select and edit combinations of parts (eg some of the solo singers + female part of the choir + male part of the choir). Does anyone know how this can be done?
