Musescore 4 chord playback chaos

• Mar 6, 2023 - 22:21

System/Musescore info:
OS: macOS 11.6, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 4.0.1-230121751, revision: 9b70a8c

Issue:
Musescore chord playback will sometimes play chaotic chords where there are none written. Take for example this exerpt of a big band chart I'm writing. If I start from 5 bars into rehearsal mark C, there is a B-7 written, and even though I have silenced all the rest of the chord voices but the piano, the chord playback comes back with B-7 along with a bunch of other gobbledy-gook sounds. When I have other chord playback on (from bass and guitar), the sound gets even more chaotic. Anyone know why this is happening or how I can get around this? It's frustrating to hear a bunch of extra noise when I need to hear a reference of something I've just written.

Timeline of audio recording:
:06 - Selecting note at beginning of Rehearsal mark C to begin playback
:08 - playback starts (slight chord greyness audible)
:17 - right at D section another odd unwritten chord sound occurs
:24 - I begin playback at m. 5 of rehearsal letter C. Immediately upon playback you can hear sour chords that weren't audible during full section playback
:33 - I select the Db7 chord in rehearsal letter D to audiate the chord
:35 - I repeat playback of beat 1 on rehearsal letter D to accentuate the issue

I appreciate any help in advance 🙏

I had a similar problem: in playback, I was hearing a chord that was not written. Deleting the measure did not fix it. In the end, I wrote a chord on the beat where the 'ghost chord' was sounding, then I deleted the chord I wrote, and this kept any chord from being sounded there.
