Time Signature Minutiae

Howdy! Say I wanted to run brackets around a time signature marking, or place two next to each other in a single measure, is there any way to achieve that without text frames? Only asking because I'd like to subdivide a complex time signature at the start of a piece for ease of interpretation and it's not clear how to go about it.
