Dots don't move with notes when offset

I'm trying to reproduce the chords in bars 10-12 in the first attachment. When I change the noteheads to small, however, they are no longer vertically aligned (2nd attachment). So I nudged the bottom three notes rightward using "Notehead offset" (the position is just a little too far to the right, but apparently one has to nudge notes in 0.5 increments, not smaller). The trouble then is that the dots don't offset with the notes and are now jammed up against their noteheads, as shown in attachment 3. Is there any way to fix this?
