MS4 decides which notes stand out, not the composer?

Me and many have been noticing that MS4 playback chooses which lines are prominent, especially in works for multiple instruments.
For example, high notes for tenor voice, even when written at piano, stand out above all other voices even though it is physically very possible for the notes to be at piano level.
I guessed it was trying to be realistic, but I feel like it would be better is there was at least something we could turn off (if there isn't already) that will enable us writers to decide which parts of a MIDI we want sound louder/quieter. For example, high notes for tenor voice, even when written at piano,
Or am I the only experiencing this?
