loss of focus while in note-input mode

OS: Windows 10 Version 2009, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 4.0.2-230651553, revision: dbe7c6d
I am using a 2 screen windows system (MS surface plus LG hdmi external monitor. I have musescore running on the externa. (big) monitor. If I am in note-input mode and I go to the other screen and then return to the score window, I am stuck in note-input mode with no way to exit except to click the mouse, placing a garbage note somewhere that I have to delete. Hitting ESC no longer exits note-input mode as usual.
Easily worked around but annoying.

Are you clicking stuff on the other screen that is non-MuseScore?
When you return to the MuseScore screen, click somewhere outside of the score sheet to return focus to the MS window.
Then continue entering notes, or hit ESC to exit note entry mode.
