Converting multiple voice parts into one piano part.

To do this I implode the voice parts onto the upper (soprano) part, then copy the result down to the piano part. But that leaves the merged parts on the upper (soprano) part, whereas I want the soprano part to remain as it was. Am I missing something here? AH - REMEMBERED THAT I CAN COPY THE IMPLODED PARTS THEN DO CTRL Z AND IT STILL ALLOWS A PASTE.
