Empty VST3 field in Preferences
I wasn't sure how to couple VSTs to MuseScore, but I discovered that if I set VST3s up in my Mac for DAWs such as Logic, Reaper, then MuseScore 4 finds them.
However I recently noticed that the Preferences setting for VST3 - under folders is blank.
Does this mean that a blank field implies a default setting for the VST3 data?
It'd be useful to know - and also where the default locations are for Windows, Linux and MacOS. I know about MacOS, but am less sure about the other systems. It is useful to know in order to help others with different systems.

The VST3 plugin location is defined in the VST3 standard. Therefore there is no need for specifying the location in MS4. However, as some developers of these plugin do not follow the standard or people manually deviate, a manual option exist to specify an alternative location to search for VST3 plugins.
See this link for the location defined in the standard: https://steinbergmedia.github.io/vst3_dev_portal/pages/Technical+Docume…
you can add or remove VST3 folders in the Preferences > General > Folders menu. You can also access this menu by clicking on the folder icon in the Mixer window. If the VST3 folder field is blank, it means that MuseScore 4 will look for VST3 plugins in the default locations for your operating system.
