Constant corruptions (EDIT: FIXED!)

• Aug 20, 2023 - 14:47

I have this problem with my score (I don't know if this is related to the number of bars I have (140), because all the corruptions happen after the 100th bar??). Every time I open it to edit something in it, I see the corruption pop-up, and it annoys me a ton.
I also think this all started because I have started it in MS3 (but I still had corruptions), but then when I started using MS4 with hope there will be no corruptions, there were all the corruptions from MS3.
I don't know how to fix this.
Does anyone know how to? Maybe I should just fix it, but the final barline is weird because it has 2 barlines in it (a normal one and a final one)
Corruption pop-up message:

EDIT:
HUGE thanks to @HildeK and @Jm6stringer for the help!!!
i don't know how to delete this so I guess I'll just keep it here

Do you have any idea how the errors came about? Did you write the score by hand or is it a PDF import? It happens quite often when importing from a PDF, especially because triplets or similar are often not recognized correctly. Or do you use the combination Ctrl-Del instead of 'DEL' when deleting a note? Or the 'insert mode' when entering notes?

I work with MuS 3.6.2 and write the scores by hand. This has never happened to me.

Unfortunately, there is no universal procedure for the repair, because the error causes can be very different and thus also the actions for the correction.
The trivial method is: insert a new measure before the corrupt one, copy the correct notes of the other instruments into the new measure and rewrite the single corrupt measure. Then select the corrupt measure and delete it with Ctrl-Del.

As said: attach your score and we may give you for some examples a hint how this can be repaired.

Thank you for your answer!
I have not imported it from a PDF, but I think I will try the idea of deleting the measure and rewriting another one. But there is still the problem of the double barline at the end, which still causes a corruption.
Also, I have thought that the double barline at the end (which also causes a corruption) is not very important.
Thanks again!

FIRST insert a new one, then copy the non-damaged measures from other instruments to the new measure, then rewrite the corrupt measure and finally delete the old one.

Regarding the double barline and all other corruptions: It can only be investigateted if you attach your score.
If you have a copyright issue, save the file with a new name and then delete there most of the score except for the affected measures.

Nine corruptions are in the Piano "Part score". So, click on 'Parts' (next to Mixer) and then click on the ellipsis (3 dots) to the right and select 'Reset'. This will usually fix corruptions in parts (without having to delete the part and re-generate). Then you only have to worry about the three corruptions that remain in the "Full score".

Be aware that the bar (measure) numbers reported in the corruption message refer to the numbers as shown in the Status bar (at the bottom left of the MuseScore screen). If your score has any pickup bar(s), or section breaks, the bar (measure) numbers that are displayed in the score itself may differ from what is shown in the Status bar. Rely on the numbers in the Status bar because that's how MuseScore "counts" the measures internally and that's what the corruption report is based upon.

See:
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/user-interface#scores
and look for #7 (Status bar) in the picture.
