Auxiliary percussion line Musescore 4

• Aug 20, 2023 - 21:41

I want to create an auxiliary percussion line, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do so. There isn't a preset for it in the "add instrument" screen, and if I try to use the "change instrument" palette, I can't have two instruments going at the same time (i.e. a triangle hit at the same time as a shaker, or a bell tree at the same time as chimes, etc.). I could create different parts for each different instrument, but that seems impractical, especially for the musician.
I've seen in other posts that I can achieve what I want by editing the drumset, but when I click "edit drumset" and go to the edit drumset screen, there doesn't seem to be a way to add whole new instruments/sounds.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, so I've figured out that in the add instrument menu, if I click "all instruments", I can find one called "percussion" that has most of what I need, but it doesn't have a bell tree. I still can't find a way to add new instruments/sounds in the "edit drumset" menu. How does one do this?
Thanks!

hi! so i've figured out this recently and have been using it every time i can, also i know im late but anyways. in the edit drums thing, there are numbers/notes and some of them are the sounds (the ones who have names) if you add names to other notes/numbers, you'll be able to use them, and depending on the sound font you're using on the percussion instrument, they will have sounds!
