creating template of very large print for vision impaired students

• Sep 7, 2023 - 20:33

Hello,
In musescore 3 I used to be able to adjust the score to have a single line in landscape mode with four giant measures per page with thick letters, thick staff lines and thick note stems. I have forgotten how to do it and would like to have an automatic template. That way I can just start writing for my students. I take the large print and emboss it so my blind students can feel the notation.

If you can let me know how to change the page settings in Musescore 3 in the meantime, that would be great.

In MS3, do this:

Format > Style > Score and disable "Indentation on first line"
Then, go to Format > Page and set to "Landscape". Now use "Scaling" to increase the size of the the stave space. Around 0.18 inches might work for you - it depends on your page size, of course.
Once you've achieved the desired result, save as a template for future use.

You can do the same in MS4: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/full-table-contents#Score-size-and-… (the first line is not indented automatically).
