Musescore appimage does not work: Ubunt 22.04

• Sep 15, 2023 - 23:49

Hello Musescore:

I previously reported that I'm no longer able to get the appimage for 3.5.4 and 4 working for Ubuntu 22.04

The forum comments suggested that I reinstall the opperating system.

I did that, as suggested. It took several hours.

However, the appimages still do not work.

Oh, well. I still have musescore 3.2.3

I'd be grateful for more comments.

Is this still Ubuntu on your Raspberry?
X86 Appimages will not work on ARM processors.
The forum was wrong to suggest a reinstall of the OS.

Hi graffesmusice:

the Appimages for 3.6.2 (or whatever) and 4 don't work on a desktop or laptop running a fresh installation of ubuntu 22.04.

Howver, Musescore 3.2 is in the ubuntu repository... and works well enough not to complain about. It may not be broadway, but it is a pretty nice bandstand, and way better than nothing when I've gotta write transcriptions for my boss man. The show must go on!

BTW, my recollection is that the appimages did work on Ubuntu 22.04 on the raspberry pi 4.b... but don't anymore.

I clearly recall being delighted that they did, but perhaps it was in a dream (No harm meant. I'm just an old man that dreams dreams.) However, I'm not young enough to believe that my memory is always accurate.

Hey graffesmusic:

installing libfuse2 worked like a charm for 4.1.2

However: 3.6 something got stuck.

Who cares? 4.1.2 works very nicely and seems very, very well done!!
