"Merging" a right hand and left hand note

• Sep 17, 2023 - 21:50

Essentially, I'm trying to replicate a note that's played at the same time by RH and LH, similar to the last A flat in measure 44 of Fantaisie Impromptu (see attached image below).

Would anyone happen to know a method to replicate this transcription in Musescore?

Use a combination of a 2nd Voice in one of the staves and Cross-Staff notation.

In the attached, imaging you have a third stave with the extra notes. Instead of an extra staff, enter the notes in Voice 2 of the "right-hand" staff. Then cross-staff the quaver from left to right staves and - in the next bar - cross-staff the crotchets from the right to the left. Tidy it up by adjusting beams, making rests invisible etc.

Tip - before cross-staffing notes that will share a notehead, flip the stems the correct-way as it's easier to select them.
