Need to add a single new instrument to na existing score and delete one already there

• Nov 14, 2023 - 17:57

I have an arrangement I did inside of Digital performer and then opened it in MuseScore 4. I rewrote a part that was orignally arranged for a bari Sax and now it is for a Tenor Sax. I want to completely delete the Bari Sax and add the tenor. I did the arrangement and have the tenor available as both an .mscz part as well as an .xml. I thought I did this before but I cannot seem to make it happen. When I try to bring it in it doesn't see the instrument as a Bb instrument and will not add the correct key signature. Need some help. Thanks

Simply select the first measure of the Bari Sax staff (file "Natural Woman.mscz"), right click and choose a new instrument - the Tenor Sax.
I don't know what key your score is supposed to be in, it looks like C major to me. So select the first measure of any instrument again and choose C major from the key signature palette. Then the trumpet and tenor sax will get the right key signature.
Since you have rewritten some measures of the tenor saxophone part, open "Natural Woman tenor sax.mscz", copy everything and paste it into the new tenor saxophone staff in "Natural Woman.mscz".
