Yamaha CSP-170 piano midi conversion problem to "SmartPianist" app.

• Dec 22, 2023 - 23:21

Hello everyone there, programist! the Yamaha observators, listeners and many more!
Look on my attach and tell me why all notes on TAB (samsung) screen in "SmartPianist) app the notes are in various position in comparison to original score sheet music. I converted from score-sheets to MIDI then I upload to my piano via "DropBox". As you see everything is changing! no chords! no bass key completely mess!
Thank You!

Converting from a notation programme like MuseScore to MIDI format loses a huge amount of layout information, so it's no surprise that you are disappointed.

A much better transfer format is MusicXML, which preserves the score's layout information. If Smart Pianist does not already support the import of MusicXML files, then it certainly should - a large firm like Yamaha already understands MusicXML.

[EDIT]
Read the online article "How to add new songs to your CSP" :
https://hub.yamaha.com/pianos/p-how-to/insider-tips-how-to-add-new-song…

It seems that the only supported import formats for Smart Pianist are audio formats:
.mid, .wav or .m4a files (i.e. MIDI, WAV audio, or MPEG4 audio)

Sorry, but you're never going to get proper layout information from an audio file.
