staccato issues ver 4.2

for some reason, staccato implementation is weird with ver 4.2. I recently upgraded from 3.6, and have been using the new ver to update some of my sound files from compositions created in ver 3.2. the files open from 4.2 without seeming to have anything amiss - except staccato. Any notes with staccato articulation, on playback, sound very much quieter than non-staccato notes (almost inaudible), plus they are extremely shortened duration. I did try creating a brand new file in 4.2, and it seems to have the same issue with staccato. It happens on both my desktop and my newer laptop (both are running windows ver 10). The file I'm uploading is an example of the issue; particularly noticeable after the change to 3/4 time in measure 59. TIA!
