Multiple Repeat Symbols

• Jan 12, 2024 - 12:50

Hi,

I would appreciate it if you would help me revise the repeat symbols so that the score may be played in the exact order. For your consideration, I have colored all those symbols on the attached file.

Thanks for your help.

Best regards,

I have also colored my changes - in blue.
What was wrong?

  • In measure 58 (volta 2) you have a D.S., but there is no segno marker at measure 35. There is a coda marker there but it must be a segno. Delete the coda marker and put a segno there.
  • Since you want to play the third time to m. 50 and then jump to m. 59, you have to use "D.S. al coda" in m. 58. This means: jump to 'Segno', play until 'To Coda' (m. 50) and do there a jump to the coda marker (m. 59).
  • And of course there must also be a jump instruction "To Coda" from the 'Repeats & Jumps' palette in m. 50. This is not possible with a system text in which you write 'To Coda'. Musescore does not understand this as a jump instruction.
  • Correct is the coda marker in m. 59.

It is often common to use a horizontal frame before the coda mark (m. 59) so that the coda section stands out somewhat. I added one.
This is not necessary, but can be easier for the musician to read.
