Lost most recent version of a score

• Jan 14, 2024 - 10:16

Hi, I've just returned to a score I was working on last week and found that I only have access to an older version of it, not the most recent. The score is set to save online, so I haven't been able to find a backup of it on my hard drive (unlike with scores that I have chosen to save to my computer). Very frustrating! Can anyone help? Is there a way of accessing backups of my online scores?

These folders were specified by others as a possible location for a backup copy (under Windows):

C:\Users\{YourUserAccount}\AppData\Local\MuseScore\MuseScore4
C:\Users\{YourUserAccount}\AppData\Local\MuseScore\MuseScore4\cloud_scores
C:\Users\{YourUserAccount}\AppData\Local\MuseScore\MuseScore4\cloud_scores\.mscbackup
C:\Users\{YourUserAccount}\Documents\MuseScore4\Scores
C:\Users\{YourUserAccount}\Documents\MuseScore4\Scores\.mscbackup
C:\Users\{YourUserAccount}\Documents\MuseScore4\Cloud_Scores

Files in AppData may have cryptical names but with the extension ".mscz".
The ".mscbackup" folders are hidden. If you cannot see them, search the Internet to find out how you can make them visible for your operating system.
For the future: Use the cloud as a backup tool and save your scores also on your local hard disk.

By the way: The forum area "Made with MuseScore" was intended to share your own composition with others and not to ask for help with a problem.
That would be better placed in the "Support and bug reports" area.
