How to move single measures lines up/make single measure lines more than one measure

• Jan 23, 2024 - 22:46

Ok so I've been trying to figure out how to move single measure lines up into other lines, but I've found nothing. I feel like there is a way to do it, and I've forgotten, because I haven't been using MuseScore as much as I used to. But I seriously can't find anything, and I've been literally searching for hours and dayssss and still nothing. Either that or I'm blind.

There should be an uploaded screenshot of what my music looks like. I don't know if it's gonna be of much help, but how do I make those two measures go on one line?

The layout palette has a bunch of things like “keep measures on same system”, section/system/page breaks, frames for images and text not connected to an element, etc.

There is no "Formatting" palette in MuS3 and also not in the master palette.
To solve your problem, you can select both measures and press the bracket '{' several times (also under Format -> stretch -> decrease layout stretch). This will tighten the content, but it only works to a certain extent.
You can also reduce the 'Staff space' in Format -> Page Settings under 'Scaling'.
And you can reduce the page margins slightly there.
And of course it also depends on the selected page size.
In your example, the main reason is that there are many additional accidentals which need a small amount of additional space.
