Trying to download a trombone part on pdf, changes clef
I'm trying to download a trombone part of a song for a student, and in the full arrangement, the trombone part is in bass clef. However, when I download the part on it's own in a pdf, it makes it treble clef. Is there some way to ensure that it downloads in bass clef?

I'm not sure if the PDF is generated by the website as you request it or if it is created when the composer uploads their score. If the latter, then you can't change things and, if the former, then go and ask the support on musescore.COM. I guess you could download the score and sort out an export the part to PDF yourself using the (free) MuseScore software?
