Too many beats in a measure
Just imported a score via XML. Mostly OK but it created several measures with too many beats (denoted by a faint "plus" mark at end or measure. How can I get rid of the extra beats? Deleting or cutting the measure seems to propagate the extra beats to later measures.

To delete a note or pause, press Ctrl+Del.
You can also go to the measure properties to change the actual length. It will then be shortened from the right.
However, this does not always lead to the desired result. Sometimes it is better to insert an additional measure, rewrite the incorrect measure there and then delete the incorrect one.
There is no universal recipe for correcting such errors. If you attach the score, you can get more tips on what is best to do in which measure.
