Select staffs for playback?

I have three instruments. I want to hear just instruments one and three play. How do I do that? I've tried Ctrl Select and double clicking but I always end up selecting one or all three.

Nevermind. Just used the mixer and worked fine.

In addition, if you select one or more measures in ONE instrument, only that instrument will play. It appears it will let you select any number (2 at least) of adjacent instruments and only those will play, but you cannot individually select non-adjacent instruments, so playing one and three with this method is not available.
