I think it's because of the way sound changes work in v4.3. It needs to know the instrument, and also the playing technique. The Instrument change text is there, but you didn't select what kind of sticks/mallets to use like you did with the drum and the tam-tam. I just added a sound flag (I think it's technically just staff text, but MuseScore recognises it as being a playing technique) to indicate large sticks and normal technique, and it seems to be working now.
