Suspended Cymbal in writing for front ensemble.

I'm trying to write a front ensemble lot tune and am having trouble trying to integrate suspended cymbals into the mallet and aux parts. I know I can just manually instrument change each time an instrument switches (say from marimba to cymbal), problem is MS Basic doesn't have a good suspended cymbal soundfont (closest sound is probably the crash cymbals sound), and it makes playback pretty annoying to listen to, especially with rolls.

I do have the Muse Sounds percussion pack that has the suspended cymbal sound I like, and I set all my staves in the mixer to Muse Sounds. When I try to use Instrument Change there though it just seems to go back to the MS Basic sounds anyway and not the Muse Sounds ones.

I feel like I've kinda hit a roadblock here. Is there a way to just instrument switch from one instrument (i.e. Marimba) to the Muse Sounds suspended cymbal, or just another instrument in the pack in general? Could there also be a way to just add Suspended Cymbal as an instrument to a part? (Without creating a separate staff ideally, for visual purposes)

Any feedback or help is greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

I've been looking for the same functionality and hit the same route as you. The reason it goes back is because it creates a unique suspended cymbal entry in the mixer for each instrument you add it to. You can fix this by setting Muse Sounds as default by doing this:
Go to mixer -> ... on top right -> playback setup -> set MuseScore sounds as default

However, constantly switching instruments is super tedious and It'd be awesome if someone from Musescore could pitch in with an easier way to add suspended cymbal rolls to mallet parts.
