Export Score to fit Brass Band March Size

• Jul 21, 2024 - 11:21

New to the forums and can't seem to find forum answers (redirects to scores with similar named content). I'm helping a brass band out and they have very old illegible copies of the Ballerina Paso Doble. I have taken some of the parts and entered them into MuseScore (4.3.2.2) but am having an issue extracting the parts and formatting them into March Size pages to be printed on A5 paper (14.85 x 21cm or 5.8 x 8.3 inches).

Can anyone point me in the direction of online guidance via the Muscore Help Pages or if it's simple enough to describe how to achieve this I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks in advance

Start by reading this part of the handbook https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/formatting

Set the page size to A5 in Format>Page settings. If you are aiming for march cards you will need to set landscape orientation as well. Then play with the scaling and system breaks to get everything to fit on the one page.

To print Musescore depends on your particular printer driver as supplied by the printer manufacturer. Facilities for printing on A5 paper or 2 up on A4 vary from model to model. I find that it is much better
to export as a pdf (File>Export) and Print from Adobe (or similar) which generally offers more options. You will also have the pdf available to send to someone who can then print it without having to install
Musescore.
