Concern about new MSS 4.4 / 4.5 percussion system and MIDI export

Is there any information or documentation available on plans for the updated percussion system being added to MuseScore Studio 4.4 and 4.5? With the addition of a drumset to MuseSounds Percussion, I have found a change to MIDI exports that I'm concerned may present a problem in the new (updated) system:

In the past, drumset notes were mapped 1:1 to individual MIDI notes: Snare is note 38 (d2), Ride Bell is note 53 (f3), etc. In particular, Closed Hi-Hat was mapped to 42 and Open Hi-Hat was mapped to 46.

With the new MuseSounds drumkit, "Hi-Hat" is mapped to MIDI note 42, and Open Hi-Hat is indicated in the score by using the "open" articulation symbol. This means that when exporting a MIDI file for the drumset part, both Open and Closed Hi-Hat are exported as MIDI note 42 - there is no way to differentiate Open and Closed when reading the MIDI file. The drum plays as intended when using the MuseSounds drumkit, but Hi-Hat always sounds as "closed" when switching to MS Basic or importing the MIDI file into a DAW.

As suggested above, I'm aware that a new system to manage percussion is being built into MuseScore Studio, with back-end changes coming in v4.4 (hopefully in a few weeks) and user-facing changes in v4.5 (hopefully by the end of the year). And my understanding (which may be wrong) is that the new system is intended to help standardize management of percussion instruments (which I agree is very haphazard now). But if the "standardization" is all being done internally to MuseScore Studio, it could render MIDI export of percussion (and drum) parts almost useless, if there is no way to properly map individual percussion sounds / instruments / techniques to individual MIDI notes for export.

This has already become an issue today when writing to the MuseSounds Percussion drumkit - MIDI export does not distinguish between open and closed hi-hat. What I'm trying to understand is if (1) the issue with MIDI export of the current drumkit is a "bug" that will be addressed in upcoming releases (so the MIDI file will be able to distinguish between open and closed hi-hat), or if (2) this is a preview of things to come, and more articulations and techniques (e.g. use of stick tip vs shank vs brush) will be driven "internal" to MuseScore, so that all of this information will be lost when exporting a MIDI file.
