Changing playback properties of elements before placing

• Aug 24, 2024 - 09:21

Hello all.

I've noticed, some elements cannot be selected in bulk, by clicking the first one in a measure or system, then holding shift, and selecting the last one, as you can do with dynamics (except hairpins) and any notation within the selected beat.

my problem, is that I want to add a short caesura to all instrument parts, but I wanted to change the stop time from 2s to 1s.

I cannot select all of them at once, and change playback hold length in the properties panel all at one time... meaning I'd have to do it manually, for all 20 parts, in each bar that I'm adding it to. (There's 2 bars that have the short caesura notated, 4 bars apart from each other in all 20 parts in the score).

That means I'd be stuck going 1 by 1, on my laptop (no mouse...), selecting each one individually, clicking "Playback" in the properties panel, clicking the dialog box, typing "1", then repeating that process 40 TIMES.... I do not want to go through all of that nonsense... There's GOT to be a way to change properties of something BEFORE I place it, doesn't there?

Hold on guys... I figured it out. heh..

If anyone else was looking for an answer to this, while there isn't a way to alter properties of something before it's in the score, if you right click, mouse over "Select >", and then click "More...", it will open another panel. You'll then select "Same Measure > Same System > Add to Selection > Okay", then you'll have selected all of that same marking in the same measure within the system it's selected in. Thumb over to the properties tab, and change what's needed.

That worked for me, in my specific situation. lol
