Cursor not advancing in Add Sticking Mode

I am trying to add sticking to a snare solo I am transcribing and when I press the default keybinds to move the cursor forward and backward (<;> and + <;>), it instead types in ";" or ":". I tried doing the same thing in Add Chord Symbols mode and the same result happened. I tried changing the keybind and it still didn't work.
