Download failed - missing files?
I previously received a demonstration version of MuseScore. This was wiped out by a recent update of Ubuntu Linux software.
I recently tried to download MuseScore and received two files in my download folder:
MuseScore-Studio-4.4.2.242570931-x86_64.AppImage and
MuseScore-Studio-4.4.1.242490810-x86_64.Appimage
There was a MuseScore3 Development folder in my Documents folder. This contains a number of empty folders. The subfolder Score contains two or three small files that I wrote on the demonstration version.
There doesn't appear to be a way to make MuseScore open, no obvious button or text file of instructions.
Help to complete set-up would be much appreciated.

I don't know if it will help you, this is how I proceed:
I download the file for Linux, right-click, and in the Properties/Permissions tab I put a check mark on 'run as program'.
Thank you, Soichi. I tried setting the two downloaded files to 'run as program' but unfortunately no effect.

Try downloading again from the official page: https://musescore.org/en/download/musescore-x86_64.AppImage
Check the system requirements

I downloaded again and received a single (duplicate) file. This doesn't run, or open with Image viewer file 'Disk Image Mounter'. Checked the system requirements which seem OK. I think I will abandon trying to make it work for the time being.
Many thanks for your help.

For me (Linux Mint) the version of QT in use for MU4 is 6.2.4.
Could this be related?
Have you tried a Nightly?

I downloaded MuseScoreNightly-latest-4.4.2-x86_64.Appimage. This appeared to be the most appropriate version. Clicking on this doesn't open or run this file or the previous download. There seems to be no way to link this to the MuseScore-Studio file, or visa versa. I'm not a computer person so maybe not be doing the right thing. The Appimage file isn't listed as available when attempting to open Image Viewer files for Studio, and no provision to find and attach unlisted ones.

If you have set the downloaded file as 'Allow as Application' I attach an mscz file as a test, try right-clicking->Open with->Other Application->Browse and look for MuseScore 4.4.2.
I'm afraid I can't help you any better.

Ubuntu doesn't seem to have the 'allow as application' feature. I will leave it. Thank you for all your help.

hi, i do not know which operating system You are using, but I use Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and my MuseScore-Studio-4.4.2.242570931-x86_64.AppImage works correctly on it. If You click with the right mouse key on every programm-Icon that You see on the Desktop, it should appears a drop down menu with the options "open", "open with other applications", "execute as program",..... "Properties".. If the option " "execute as program", is missing in your system, maybe something is not completela correct in Your installation. I enclose e file with all the step I have done, to get MuseScore running.
I hoppe it can help You.
