Playback tailoring for glissandos?

Is there a way to turn off the playback for glissandos/falls? They sound very odd and don't capture the way that many of these features are executed by string players (e.g. cellists). I would prefer to not hear them at all in the playback. I'm hoping this is just a setting somewhere that I have missed. Any help is appreciated!
