Set default style
I've created a style file (jazz.mss) that I load for every score I create. Is there a way to make Musescore use it by default, instead of having to click Format->Load Style and choosing it?

Not sure if this is what you want, but maybe?
Edit / Preferences / General / Program start section. Choose to Start with score and point it at your template.
[A few moments later] Perhaps rather Edit / Preferences / Score / Default files section and set a value in the Style field. Still not sure that's what you need.
