Incorporating Bulgarian Rhythm into Time Signature

• Oct 26, 2024 - 03:40

Hello,

I hope this message finds you well.

I would like guidance on incorporating the Bulgarian rhythm "4+2/8+3" into a time signature. Any insights on how to approach this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Richelle Jose

Not sure what your quoted rhythm means, but if it's something like this ...

... then you definitely can.

To make this, i created a time signature of 9/8, then had it display as shown above using the Create time signature dialog.

Open the Time signatures pallette, click the More button, then click the Create time signature button. Set the Value to be "9" / "8" and the Text to be "4+2+3" / "8". Check the box to Also change shorter notes. Then adjust the beam selector to beam the first four eighth notes, the next two eighth notes, then the final three eighth notes, as shown.

I hope this helps, even if I didn't get the exact value of your intended time signature. Good luck!!!
